When To Post

Posting on social media is a way to stand out, amplify your image and spread brand awareness. The eye-grabbing content that you've created needs to be shared with the world. However, it may not be sufficient to simply post on these platforms at any given time. Some specific times actually present better than others.

The times and results that we are about to share with you are based on research done in 16 separate studies. While these are an average based on several variables, try to do your own testing and find what works best for your business. People tend to browse social media differently, at different times and also varies dependant on the demographic.

When To Post
Knowing when to post can maximize your engagement on social media.

When it comes down to it, consistently posting creative content is going to lead to success. But knowing what times to share is going to maximize your social media results. Keep in mind that 80% of the US is within the Eastern and Central time zones. Consider this when scheduling out your posts.

Best Time To Post On Facebook

Facebook is accessed on both mobile and desktop both at home and work. This leaves a pretty open window of when to post on the platform. However, clickthrough rates have shown to peak between 1:00-4:00 PM on Facebook. On weekends, stick between 12:00-1:00 PM and avoid any posting before 8:00 AM and after 8:00 PM.

Best Time To Post On Instagram

Since Instagram is primarily accessed on mobile devices, the most engaging times have proven to be outside of work hours. Overall, the best time to post on Instagram is around 8:00 AM on a Monday morning and anytime other than 3:00-4:00 PM during the week. The most engaging time to post videos is between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM any day of the week.

Best Time To Post On Twitter

Users treat Twitter almost as an RSS feed, resulting in peak times while people have downtime. The most active times are generally during commutes, breaks, etc. To boost retweets and clickthroughs, shoot for 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM and between 5:00-6:00 PM.

Best Time To Post On LinkedIn

LinkedIn is used mainly during the week and around work hours by business professionals. Aim for 8:00-9:00 AM, the lunch hour and around 5:00-6:00 PM.

Pro Tip: Organize all of your platforms by using a social media manager such as Hootsuite. Schedule out your posts as far in advance as you'd like and forget about it. This gives you time to focus your attention on other areas of your marketing.

To Wrap It Up

The goal is to post consistent content on your social media platforms. For ultimate engagement and clickthrough, use these times as a guideline to when you should be posting. In addition, utilize a free service such as Google Analytics or Facebook Insights to dig deeper into your personal data and find what works best for you.

Happy Posting!
